After the many weeks of harried anticipation that precede the holiday break, it can often seem to fly by too quickly. This year, many of us are putting extra effort towards focusing on what is important. The opportunity to enjoy loved ones without the distractions of the daily grind is something we should cherish.
This edition of Up at the Lodge features some great Door County-style ways to spend the valuable time off during the holiday break.
From all of us at Open Hearth Lodge, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hit The Theater
For Door County visitors that enjoy the many performing arts options offered in our community, the Northern Sky Theater’s annual holiday production “Home for the Holidays” is a can’t-miss event. After the production went virtual last year, Northern Sky is once again presenting the show in-person this year it the intimate Gould Theater. With 5 shows available in the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, this show will help you celebrate the season with laughter and song.

Take a Walk!
Just across the peninsula and north of Bailey’s Harbor is the beautiful Ridges Sanctuary, a nature preserve and natural landmark. The unique topography of this land, formed by the movement of Lake Michigan, is a wonder to experience any time of the year, but even more magical around the holidays.
The Ridges offers their Holiday Luminary Walks, available in the evenings of the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Bring your whole family and enjoy the tranquility.

One More Thing: The Hot Tub Returns
We thought it would be a relatively simple repair, but it turned out that our old whirlpool tub needed a lot of work. We’re thrilled to announce that our resurfaced and replumbed whirlpool is better than ever, and ready to keep you warm this winter.
